Halloween in NYC

I went to the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill, London, where I spent a few hours drawing various specimens. My favourite object was probably this skeleton of a human baby. On the opposite page is drawn the central nervous system of a rat.

RIP Murray

So yesterday my Bubble-Eye fish died. His name was Murray and he was a birthday present from a pal. Despite the saddness of his passing, his death has been a a great opportunity for photography and drawing. "Anatomical", in the words of my flatmate Lara. More to follow soon.

Bob Dylan

'What do you want me to say?' is a twenty-four second animation with audio taken from an interview with Bob Dylan in 1965. It is the outcome of an After Effects brief back in May, accompanying illustrations were posted here then.

Women

Probably my two favourites from the Egon Schiele exhibition at Richard Nagy's gallery in Old Bond Street. I loved everything in the room, definitely an inspiration to start life drawing again.

Freddie The Exploding Dog

A one minute film. Freddie revolts against the human race. Project devised by Ed Gill. Collaborative project with Bradley Bell, Chloe Alpert, Anna Fearon and Anna Ngai.

Poster for the upcoming film of ours, 'Freddie the Exploding Dog'. Filming finished last weekend followed by a week of editing. The film was handed in yesterday and will be premiered at a Chelsea Oscar night which conincides with end of term. Freddie will be uploaded after this event has passed. Be ready.

Trinity Buoy Wharf

Last Thursday I went to the Central Saint Martins first year fine art show at Trinity Buoy Wharf where they had been working on site during the previous week. My flatmate, Laramie Shubber, exhibited her work (below, top image) alongside other highlights like a slide (from outside into the basement) by Lindsay Mcmillan and an outdoor seating area/den by someone called Briony. Following Lara's work are just a few of the other pieces I liked.

Final part of the assembling/arranging/printing project. Use the pieces of camera to print with. I tried stamp ink first but the result wasn't so effective. Above is the final print, below, the traced version.

Country Life

Project: 'REDESIGN YOUR FAVOURITE VINYL FORMAT 12" ALBUM'.
Here are just a few samples of ideas for the vinyl project. The photographs from the shoot in Richmond have turned out really well so I'm now experimenting with type and layout and deciding which images work best. I'm hand rendering most of the text and have tested out some lino cuts. The hands-on style of work kind of goes with the idea of getting mucky in the countryside. Plus, I just love working analogue.

Dismantling a camera part two: arrangements. Organising things neatly. It's was like I'd been given a dream project for the day. This is the most successful arrangement I came up with. With more time, it could be better. However, being a collector (and probably hoarder these days), I have saved the pieces for future use so will arrange them again (if they're not too dirty...).
